The Origin Story
Marketing Strategy Solutions was born from a simple yet profound belief — small businesses and start-ups deserve the same opportunities to thrive as their larger competitors.
Founder Janet Ballonoff’s story begins at Bowling Green State University, where she earned a BA in English. Her passion for connecting with people and solving challenges led her to Johns Hopkins, where she earned her MBA in marketing. But it wasn’t the degrees or accolades that sparked her vision; it was what she encountered afterward. Working in the demanding world of marketing, Janet saw a recurring challenge faced by small companies—big ideas, and grand ambitions, but limited resources. She noticed how hard it was for small businesses to compete in a marketplace dominated by larger players with bigger budgets and a team of specialists at their fingertips. Something about that imbalance didn’t sit right with her.
Fueled by a desire to create change and make a meaningful difference, she founded Marketing Strategy Solutions to bridge the gap and become a champion for businesses with big dreams but lean resources. Her vision was simple but powerful: to help start-ups and small technology companies unlock their full potential by making the most of what they have, no matter the constraints.
